Q1. What are your reseller package features and prices?
You can access our plans from our home page www.diyhosting.com. Click on the "browse plans" link to view the packages DIYHosting has to offer.

Q2. Are there any setup fees for DIYHosting, reseller packages?
DIYHosting does not believe in charging a setup fee for reseller accounts. Our system is powered by high-end technology that automates the setup procedure, thus saving you, the user, any initial startup costs.

Q3. How anonymous are your reseller accounts?
The ultimate in anonymity. From the private nameservers, to the anonymous support available for you. DIY prides its self on providing a blank screen for you to fill in the gaps.

Q4. How long does it take to setup a new account?
Account setup is on a case-to-case basis. In most cases, new accounts will be activated within 4 hours, and a welcome letter sent to you at the email address provided during the DIYHosting signup proceedure.

Q5. What control panel and version do we and our client get?
DIYHosting is best known for our H-Sphere control panel offerings.
However, due to public demand, DIYHosting also offers Cpanel, and Plesk 7 options, to accentuate your H-Sphere account, or as an alternative.
The following versions of each of these control panel's are installed:
H-Sphere 2.4.2
Plesk 7.5.x

Q6. Can we oversell on our webspace and data transfer limits?
We bill only on usage. This allows you to sell over your alloted limits. It is important to note that by overselling disk space or transfer, you are placing your account at risk, due to the overage charges the account would incur should you use the space/transfer you have assigned to your users.

Q7. How much does it cost for extra webspace and traffic transfer?
Disk space is billed at $0.10 per extra megabyte used, and transfer at $2.50 per extra gigabyte used. Please approach DIYHosting with any questions you may have about bulk purchases.

Q8. Can we make our own control panel theme or modify an existing one?
The hsphere 2.4.2 control panel is fully customizable for resellers. You have an inbuilt modification option. Plesk has modification options, although not as extensive as the H-Sphere control panel.

Q9. Do you offer money back guarantee?
We have a service level agreement in place. If for any reason we do not live up that SLA, then you are refunded, in full for that month, and any affected months.

Q10. What are the methods of technical support you provide?
DIYHosting provides technical support via two primary mediums. You can submit a trouble ticket request via the DIY Support site, located at DIYSupport.com, or you can call our toll free phone system at 18887646668. Both of these primary mediums are available on a 24 hours a day basis. View more information on available technical support options.

Q11. Do you help to move to a managed server and what are the charges?
DIYHosting can move you, and all your accounts over to either your own full hsphere cluster, which we will manage for you, or you can choose what we call a "dedicated reseller plan". The Dedicated reseller plan means that we add another server to our cluster, for your use only. The price varies, and is related to each reseller in person.
We also offer custom cpanel, and plesk dedicated servers.

Q12. Why should we choose your company over the competition?
You shouldn't take our word for it. Make your own comparisons, and see who is the best company for your needs. Do not contact us asking for a direct comparison with another company, as we will not compare ourselves with anyone. We do not believe in belittling our competitors.

Q13. What platforms can I resell?
Your DIYHosting H-Sphere account allows you to sell both unix and windows 2k3 platforms, from one reseller account. Our Plesk 7.5.x control panel allows you to sell Unix and windows 2000. With Plesk however, the operating systems are not both included in the same package.

Q14. How do I claim my additional features?
Simply contact the customer service department through the support center at DIYSUPPORT.COM, and request the additional feature you wish to active. You will then be contacted with information on how to use the feature.
Please note. The business features cannot be claimed if your account is part of a promotional package.

Q15. What is the DIYHosting Community, and how does it benefit me?
The DIYHosting community forum is a forum base, for resellers to interact with one another, as well as the DIYHosting staff. With a wealth of knowledge to be found in the numerous topics and discussions, this can be a hotbed of information for any reseller. The community can be found at http://www.diysupport.com/community

Q16. .How many domains are we allowed on a reseller account and what are the charges?
The number of domains you can offer is shown on each plan in the comparisons page for the respective control panel.

Q17. .Can we upgrade or downgrade accounts and what are the charges?
Yes you can upgrade/downgrade. The charges are the difference in price between the two plans.

Q18. Do you charge on allocated or used space?
We bill only on usage.

Q19. What happens if I reach my bandwidth/data tranfer limit?
You get an instant option to upgrade.

Q20. What platform(s) does DIYHosting offer?
Windows 2000, RedHat ES3.0, and Windows 2003.

Q21. Are we allowed to install scripts?
Non server abusive scripts are allowed.

Q22. How much does a dedicated IP cost?
Extra IP's cost $2.50

Q23. Do you allow adult content, eggdrop bots, etc?
Eggdrop bots are not allowed, as per our TOS. Adult content, so long as legal, is allowed.

Q24. Do you offer custom hosting plans?
Yes, you may contact us at anytime with your custom requests. All customization requests must be done from our contact page.

Q25. Front Page extentions? Databases? E-mail?
Frontpage extensions are installed, along with mySQL, MS SQL and PGSQL. Email is unlimited on accounts creation.

Q26. Do you offer an uptime guarantee?
Yes, our network uptime is guaranteed @ 99.9%.

Q27. Do you offer price freeze guarantee?
Yes, the price at which you signed up, is your price for your entire stay with DIYHosting

Q28. What are your server specifications?
Please see the respective pages for our reseller plans.

Q29. How many accounts do you put on a server?
Depending on the packages sold, accounts on each server never rise above 300. The h-sphere system is setup to automate this for us. It allocates accounts to a seperate section of the cluster, should the specified limit be reached on one sector. 300 user accounts is equatable to 300-500 domain names. The number can vary on a per-server basis, depending on the resource usage history of the server.

Q30. How do we cancel our account and what are the procedures?
All cancellations can be done from the support center located on the DIYSupport.com, at the billing helpdesk

Q31. How do you rate your technical support?
Our technical support is unmatched. We have never had an issue with our expertise, and the NET1.NET team (the parent company of DIYHosting) has been providing hosting for over three years. Our average ticket response time (surveyed between July 1st, and December 30th, 2004) is 21 minutes.

Q32. What are your downtime strategies?
Our downtime strategies (in emergency cases) are a switch to a seperate (already live) network. In case of emergency, we have spare servers that could be migrated to, also.

Q33. Do you have stored statistics to show uptime and performance in the past?
You can view our live server monitoring via www.diysupport.com

Q34. How often are server files backed up?
At 12:01am every day. Backups are intended for the sole purpose of emergency restoration. We do however include a backup tool in each of our control panel's. These backup tools are for your own use, and may be used at any time to backup your site(s).

Q35. What methods of payment do you accept?
All major Credit Cards. Paypal is also accepted

Q36. What is your company time period of being in the hosting business?
NET1.NET has been providing hosting solutions for more than four years, and is the parent company of DIYHosting. NET1.NET started out as a small, locally owned, and locally run hosting company, and emerged onto the global scene almost two years ago.

Q37. Can you provide us the AUP or TOS of your company?
www.diyhosting.com/policies.html

Q38. What are the future plans for your company?
The plans for DIY are very simple; Continue to provide resellers with constantly ground breaking technology and resources.

Q39. Who can be a reseller?
Anyone, no matter what level of expertise. Learning the hsphere system is very straight forward, and the support we give to each customer is un-matched in the hosting industry, and is of the highest calibre.

Q40. Is billing recurring?
This is your choice. At the end of your first billing cycle, you will be given the choice.

Q41. Can i advertise unlimited allocations?
Unless you have unlimited resources at your disposal (for instance; mail accounts, FTP accounts etc...) the answer is no. Any reseller found to be offering unlimited transfer or disk space will be immediately suspended from the DIYHosting service, with no refund. We do not allow unlimited disk space/transfer traffic to be advertised, on the DIYHosting network, as it does not exist, and poses an unnecessary threat to our resellers.

Q42. I'm new to all this, it looks very daunting, can someone help?
You can request a walkthrough, via the helpdesk.

Q43. How does the domain registration process work?
The way it works is; The DIY servers send a relay to eNom's servers, which in turn register the domain, and sends the info back to the DIY servers, then the DIY servers create the domain on that account. The entire process, although it sounds very long-winded and complicated, takes approximately 0.003 seconds. Once a domain is registered, we create what we call a "domain holding account" for you at eNom, and push the domain into that account. So, should your user wish to manage his/her domain, they may do so, with a login that you provide to them. Another quick note to keep in mind, is when the domain is registered, it automatically sets the domain's nameservers to match your own domain, for instance;
you own abchost.com - client registers 123xyz.com - client's nameservers are automatically set to "ns1.abchost.com" and "ns2.abchost.com" .. it's really that straight forward!

Q44. Do you offer migration services
Please contact us after account creation, to discuss your migration options, via www.diysupport.com
